How to avoid attacks from honey bees or hornets?

Some people may think honey bees and hornets are just tiny insects that can’t be any threat to humans. In fact, bees can be deadly animals to humans, especially for those who are allergic to bee stings. A month ago, a police officer was attacked by a bee swarm and got seriously hurt.

How to avoid bee attacks?

Bees are attracted to dark colors and floral patterns, so it’s best to avoid wearing those. Additionally, consider wearing a hat and securing your hair if it’s long.

Avoid strong ascent

Fragrances from perfumes, colognes, scented lotions, and other strong-smelling products can attract bees. It’s best to avoid using these when you’re in areas with a high bee population.

Stay away from beehives and swarms

Bees are generally docile when they are foraging for nectar, but they can become defensive if their hive or swarm is disturbed. If you come across a beehive or a swarm, keep your distance and avoid any sudden movements.

Be cautious around flowers and food

Bees are attracted to flowers and food, especially sugary substances. When eating outdoors or enjoying gardens, keep food and sweet beverages covered and be aware of any bees in the vicinity.

Seek shelter

If you find yourself surrounded by bees and they are becoming agitated, try to find shelter indoors or in a closed vehicle as quickly as possible. Bees will usually lose interest and fly away once they don’t perceive you as a threat anymore.
